Hello and welcome to part 1 of the mindfulness @ christmas series.
Each day there will be a short mindfulness meditation to ground you to the present and work the mindfulness practise into your day. Amidst the chaos of christmas, there is beauty and something positive worth noticing each day.
Today will will be focusing on what you might look at during your day today.
So when you are ready, take a moment to get comfortable.
Gently close your eyes, adjust your shoulders, arms and legs to become comfortable.
Allow yourself to focus on your breath. Breathe in deeply and breathe out deeply. Notice how your breath calms your body and allows you to be still for a moment.
Let your breath connect you to right now, the stillness, the chance to heighten your awareness of yourself and your surroundings.
Today our focus is looking.
At the places you go, the people you see, the things around your desk or work place.
What do you notice.
The colours, the textures, maybe even something that was not there the day before.
Changes happen around christmas, window displays, christmas trees and lights appear. Take a moment today to notice what you see, instead of letting yourself get caught up in the world.
Anytime you feel the world is running away with you today, just look.
Take one more nice deep breath in, and out. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes, slowly open your eyes and allow yourself to look.
Enjoy your mindfulness practise today.
