Hello and welcome to episode 27 of grounded in stillness.
Moments to pause.
In a world that’s so busy, with technology that provides us the means to be more efficient and produce quicker outcomes, the human element at times can get lost.
We are not like technology which can function 24/7. How powerful could it be in our lives if we took moments to pause.
So let’s find a pause in our day.
***Music starts***
Take a moment to find a comfortable position for your body to relax in.
Adjust your shoulders, adjust your hips.
Slowly close your eyes or find a soft gaze.
Allow your arms and legs to feel heavy.
Allow your focus to be your in breath and your out breath.
Simply observing one breath at a time.
Breathing in, breathing out.
As you focus on the in breath and the out breath, you are pausing the outside world.
Allowing yourself a moment to be.
Allowing yourself a moment to calm the mind and body.
Giving your body’s nervous system a moment to slow.
Breathing in and breathing out.
While you pause, you are not just taking the moments from the outside world.
You are taking a moment for your inside world to pause as well.
The stillness of the body allows you a pause from movement.
A pause for your muscles and vital organs to recover.
You may begin to notice your breath becoming slower as you embrace this moment to pause.
Embrace the pause by focusing on your breath.
All that matters for these few moments is your breath.
The length of your breath.
The sound of your breath.
Pausing allows you a moment to step away, from a task, from an exercise when you have to pause between sets.
Allow the pause to re-centre you, to reconnect with why you are doing what you are doing.
Simply breathe in and breathe out with intention to find that pause in your day.
Pause anywhere and anytime with one breath in and one breath out.
Enjoy these final few breathes in this pause for today.
Take one more deep breath in and out.
Allowing your breath to gently return to its natural rhythm.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
Slowly open your eyes when you are ready.
And allow yourself to return to today.
Thank you for listening.
