Hello and welcome to part 14 of mindfulness @ Christmas.
Today we are going to focus on what we are grateful for. At Christmas time we are always asked by family and friends what we want, however when do we take the time to focus on what we already have at this time of year.
Allow yourself to reflect for a moment on the things you are grateful for in your life, not other things you can add.
Lets see if today we can shift the focus from want to have.
Allow yourself to find a comfortable position.

Adjust your shoulders, your hips, relax your arms and legs.
Become aware of your breath, how you breathe in and how you breathe out.
Let your body become heavy and let where you are sitting or laying support you completely, allow yourself a moment to recharge.
Use the deepness of your in breath and out breath to ground you to right now. This exact moment.
Begin to be grateful for the simple ability to be able to breathe effortlessly. Be grateful for your health, the ability to see, speak and hear.
These are just a few things we have which we can end up taking for granted. So take a moment to appreciate your health and body. How it takes you places, allows you to move, allows you to do the things you wish. Like climbing mountains to take in the view of the world around you.
Then take a moment to be grateful for the simple thing of having a roof over your head. Somewhere warm to sleep. Just one of those things, we sometimes forget others don’t have during the colder months of the year.
Notice the simplicity of being comfortable, not too hot or cold, having somewhere to go home too when you finish your day.
Having a job which allows you to go on adventures, being able to get by. We don’t live to work, we work to live.
These things we have to do on a daily basis are all things to be grateful for. Like being able to buy that Christmas flavour coffee as a treat to yourself on the way to work.
The family and loved ones we have around us. As well as being grateful for the time we had with those who are no longer with us. Christmas allows you to remember those who you love. Enjoy the memories you have, they are so precious.
Take the time today to be grateful for everything you have and do, even simply being able to get out of bed this morning.
Be in the moment with everything today. Be grateful for every breath, every smile you give, every smile you get back. Because sometimes we get caught up in what the world thinks we should have or need, when just maybe if we are grateful for what we have. The world might seem a lot kinder and allow you to ground yourself not only in stillness, but also in the moment of gratefulness.
Take one more deep breath in and deep breath out.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes, softly open your eyes.
Enjoy the day.
Thank you for listening
