Hello and welcome to episode 17 of grounded in stillness.
Butterflies are such beautiful and graceful creatures.
They are the focus of this relaxation to help you materialise thoughts and feelings. To then watch the butterflies fly away.
Find yourself a comfortable position to relax in, be this sitting or laying the choice is yours.
Adjust your shoulders, adjust your hips.
Slowly close your eyes.
Notice your breath.
Breathe in deeply, breathe out deeply.
Allow yourself a moment to just be.
Now imagine you are walking through a garden, filled with beautiful flowers.
You notice the colours, the shapes of the flowers.
You notice the butterflies.
So many butterflies, moving from flower to flower.
All the different sizes and colours of butterflies.
You allow yourself a moment to be still, to enjoy the flowers and all the butterflies around you.
Enjoy the stillness as you pause to watch the butterflies, gently moving from flower to flower. Completely unaffected by your presence in the garden.
Slowly you become aware of how still you have become as you watch the butterflies, the calmness as you watch.
The calmness within you, begins to radiate outwards.
The butterflies sense your calmness and stillness, they begin to settle on your arms and hands.
You notice how gently they rest on your skin with their tiny feet, their wings opening and closing to show you their wonderful colours.
You then realise the number of butterflies resting on your arms and hands, represent the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing right now.
Become aware of which thoughts or feelings are reflected by each butterfly.
As you accept which butterfly is connected to which thought, the butterfly gently flies away.
Until every butterfly has left your arms and hands.
Leaving you with space within the mind and body.
To enjoy the stillness, the calmness within.
You slowly continue to walk through the garden watching the flowers and butterflies. However you may notice you now walk slower, more present.
Able to enjoy the natural environment more.
Notice the colours, shapes, sizes of the flowers and butterflies for a few more moments.
Take one more deep breath in, deep breath out.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Slowly open your eyes.
Thank you for listening
