Hello and welcome to episode 23 of grounded in stillness.
February 14th, to some of you out there it might be your birthday. However for the majority of us on this planet it is known as Valentine’s Day.
Love the day or hate it, I challenge you to switch the focus from showing others how much you love them to showing yourself how much you love you.
So let’s find the positive and show ourselves the love we have in our hearts.
So find yourself a comfortable position to relax in, sitting or laying the choice is yours.
Adjust your shoulders, adjust your hips.
Allow your body to feel heavy in place.
Breathe in deeply, breathe out deeply.
Feel your chest gently rise and fall.
Allow your arms and legs to feel completely heavy.
Take a moment to enjoy the stillness.
A rare moment out of your day to stop completely.
To just breathe in, to just breathe out.
Connect to the stillness of your body.
Allow the slowness of your breath to begin to slow the mind.
Then slowly bring your attention inward, to your heart.
You may begin to observe the gentle beating of your heart.
Notice the rhythm your heart makes.
You may begin to feel the gentle pulsing as the heart pumps the blood around your body.
The pulses moving away from your heart, down your arms and legs.
Maybe even through your neck and head.
The gentle pulsing that you now feel through your body. Is your heart providing love and kindness to you.
This brief moment for you to accept the love and kindness your heart has for you. That which we so often give to others. Allow your heart to gently beat and return the love back to you.
Breathe and be with your heart beat.
For a few moments today nothing else is important.
Just you, your breath, your heartbeat.
Slowly take one more deep breath in, deep breath out.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Then slowly open your eyes when you are ready.
